Winter Solstice

 In Blog

As today is the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year, it’s a great reminder to me that there are always brighter days ahead.

I was part of a community gathering this week where we spent time reflecting on 2023 as well as looking ahead to 2024. I’m grateful for so much this year and cannot wait to see what’s ahead in 2024. One of the participants in our gathering this week shared her reflections on 2023 and started out stating “nothing good happened, unfortunately.” She shared that she experienced a lot of personal loss AND she shared some really positive reflections. I chose to feed that back to her shining the the light on what she had said. In doing so, she was able to see a very different perspective and shift her mindset, allowing her to notice that not all was “dark” in 2023.

This is such a great reminder that we have many ways to look at situations, and we also have to truly listen and pay attention to all that we experience and all that surrounds us.

As we look forward to longer and brighter days as the calendar moves past December 21, 2023, otherwise known as the winter solstice,

  • What are you looking forward to?
  • Where do you want your focus to be?
  • What will help you to let go of the perspectives that don’t serve you and explore perspectives that are more helpful?
  • What can you do to adjust your mindset?

Looking for a partner to help challenge you to consider other perspectives? Wondering how to best move forward as the days grow longer? I support individuals, teams and organizations to perform at their highest potential and that often includes exploring different perspectives, creating plans, communicating effectively, and much more. I would welcome to opportunity to support you or your organization. Let’s connect.
